November 2011

Topic: Healing Your Digestive System with Natural Therapies

Date & Time: Tuesday, November 15th - 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine

Presenter: Dr. John C. Pittman

Description: Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, once said, “All diseases begin in the gut.”  Today we know that many common health problems are indeed linked with imbalances in the intestinal flora and to an overgrowth of undesirable organisms.  Chronic digestive disturbances include everything from bloating and indigestion to constipation and gall bladder dysfunction.  By identifying the causes of these disorders, you can then develop a treatment regimen that addresses all the key components of the problem, and that ultimately restores the gut to a harmonious state.  We will explore the use of gut-friendly nutrition, probiotics, herbals, and colon hydrotherapy, and how combinations of these strategies can yield the best results.
